Biography
Makis Maniadakis is a freelance music composer currently based
in Munich Germany. Having completed his theoretical and practical studies
in music in his homeland Greece, he moved to UK where he studied Film
and Film Music Composition with Miguel Mera and Julio D’ Escrivan.
He currently holds a Bachelor’s degree in Film and Music and an
MA in “Music composition for Media” from Anglia Ruskin University in
Cambridge.
His works have been presented at various festivals in Greece, Italy,
Germany and UK, while his musical style and interests vary from western
European 'classical' music, to rock, jazz, latin, Indian, and Greek music.
He is particularly interested in orchestration, more specifically
in the relation between instrumental timbre and emotions while in his
scores, he frequently uses traditional instruments outside the borders of
western music.
Makis is also very passionate about filmmaking and he has directed various
short fiction films and documentaries.
